The balsa foam I was told is a product a lot of sign carvers use because it
last a long long time when sealed properly. I found I had to do most of the
carving using power carver with a sanding drum on it, I did a little final
detail with knives. Below is a couple of sites on the foam, I isn't cheap,
glad I got a 6x6x2 block for free.
I posted some pics in the woodcarving illustrated message board under the
new projects.

The tall Santa is out of the balsa foam.

It has been quite the last few days hasn't it. Been at the beach where
internet connection is SLLLLLOOOOWWW. I did carve a Santa out of Balsa
Foam, a neighbor had a small piece he was going to throw away so I took it
for some fun.

Hi
I just changed my email address for receiving messages from the list and I
have not received any for the last two days. I am wondering if there is
something wrong with my account or is it just really quiet out there?
