What about asking your favorite woodcarving supplier about screw eyes???
I'm here for you buddy!

 

We've got them two ways: 

 

100 EA. - BRASS SCREW EYES - 1/8" HOLE X 1/2" LONG - 531221 - $4.50

 

1000 EA. - BRASS SCREW EYES - 1/8" HOLE X 1/2" LONG - 531222 - $30.00

 

Is that bulky enough?   :o)
