This seems to be a good review of the tool- they don't think much of it. I'd 
vote for the regular Dremel rotary carver with lots of attachments and maybe the 
extension hose with handle. I've had one for a zillion years and it still works 
fine. Great for power carving and there are bits like router bits- and even a 
router attachment.
As for the band saw vs scroll saw debate-  whereas I am usually in favor of the 
band saw I think that for an apartment a scroll saw would be the better choice. 
Band saws make a lot of noise and should always have a big dust collector. 
Scroll saws are quiet and generate a lot less blowing dust. You would be able to 
cut blanks up to around 2" with the scroll saw.

Dose anybody know anything about the dreml trio, tool I am thinking about 
investing in one I want to know if it is worth the money . I could use some more 
advice I would to get either a band saw or scroll saw ,I want to know what to 
say to my landlord he dose not seem to like the idea of me having large power 
tools in my apartment
