[Woodcarver] pattern

I rarely ever reply, but here is something that happened to me.  First I
joined and oh boy, did I ever get bombarded with e-mails.  I thought this is
not for me.  But I kept it for while.
 
Then i decided I needed to carve some custom light switch plates and I sent
out a feeler e-mail to see if anyone had some ideas about how to go about
it.  Several e-mails later I had the information I needed.  How thick a
piece of wood should be (or rather not be).  The metal plating on the back
of plate for electrical safety.  How to router the switch hole a bit deeper
and wider when the wood was fairly thick, etc. 
 
And I never thought about taking my name off the list after.  It seems a
worthwhile list to belong to and I sometimes get a huge chuckle out of
e-mails from people I have never met, probably will never meet, but wish I
could.
