Corey,
JMTCW and to echo some others..
Looking at how far you've come in the couple years you've been carving,
teaching beginners is your next step I think, and beginners are the most fun
actually (Shhhh! Don't tell my intermediates).
I have an article in an old WOM.

I know. it's a little egocentric quoting your own work, but Hey! As with
most of my stuff, if you can skip past the first couple paragraphs you might
find some useful stuff <G>. Try starting where I advise "Just do it!".
If that camera does HD, that's more than adequate for YouTube. Whether you
can record the 7min worth your limited to on YouTube (I think), will depend
on the memory available on your SD card (or what ever you have). After that
it's the space on the computer that you download it to.
Keep on Carvin'

Just ordered a new digital camera last night because the battery door on
mine won't stay shut and turn on anymore without playing with it for an
hour. It says it takes HD video. Will have to check it out. Thanks Donna,
Corey

Corey-
Some still digital still cameras will take a minute of video that is easy to
transfer to the computer. That is how I did some of my earlier harp and
carving snippets. When I wanted to get serious I bought a relatively
inexpensive <$125 digital camera and was surprised at how well the videos
come out. A lot of it has to do with lighting and knowing where to place the
camera- and explaining things well. I think that is more important than
having the $1,200 prosumer camera.
Editing is the hard part, but I think there are some programs that make it
an easier task. (We used Linux-based open source programs which made the job
more complex). Mine end up a little less than perfect, but the essential
information is transmitted smoothly enough. No complaints. . . so far.
