I would say it depends on what you need to use the saw for the most. A jig
saw is a great tool for some general carpentry-type work when a small blade
is needed in a tight spot-remodeling type jobs especially. It can be
mounted on a jig saw table for other jobs (and now you're talking space
again). But if you don't do that sort of carpentry work - then scroll or
band. Much more precise and easy to use and always setup. I have all three
and a Sawzall can't seem to do without any of them. But I don't use my jig
or the Sawzall for any carving projects because I have the scroll and the
bandsaw to use also.
