The little saw works wonderfully on thin items. Dremel also has carving bits, which are well worth looking into. They work great also. I am mostly a hand carver but will resort to a dremel for certain projects. I really like to use the ceramic bits for sanding in hard to reach spots. For the price and what you can do with it, it is well worth the investment. Bits can be expensive when purchased seperately, I amassed most my 1000+ bits by watching ebay and waiting till someone was selling off their entire bit collection as a lot. Another way to save is to buy the craftsman rotary tool which is 10-20$ cheaper but made by the exact same manufacturer. Same tool, same quality, just cheaper. Dremel does not actually make the tools, only markets them under its name. All dremel/craftsman bits are fully interchangeable.
Some absolute must have, make sure the tool is variable speed model, get the flex shaft. Get the one that has the button on the handpiece and get the
4486 Dremel Chuck
so that no tools are needed to change bits in and out quickly. Those little extras again are well worth the investment It also eliminates to need for any different sized collets(bit holders).
I have had the same craftsman rotary tool for 5-6 years now and have changed the brushes 2x in all those years and trust me, I use it on a regular basis and have put it thru its paces over and over again.

I am looking for advice on Dremrel tools I was wondering if the saw attachment I have seen around is worth the investment? I was wondering about the router bits and carving tools if they are worth the investment
Thanks
Andy
