Hi Sandie,

It's a blessing that Ol' Don's doing so good. We'll keep the prayers coming. I have the minister that married you also praying for you both.

Thanks, Mike and Maura, for the thoughts and prayers. Things are looking pretty good right now. The lung tumor has shrunk to nothing. Don is able to swallow real food again instead of Ensure - which makes him very happy. Don had two really low periods 3 weeks apart. The radiation did a number on his blood making marrow. He had to spend overnight in the hospital on each occasion. They topped him off with several units of rbcs and some platelets. Made him feel like a new person the next day.

We are heading into the last week of radiation and the next to last batch of chemo today. Hopefully the blood will hold good this time. The doctors are planning what comes next but all we know is that it will involve low dose radiation to the brain and will also probably include removing the kidney with cancer in it. I'm sure they will want Don back at full speed before they do that.

We had been looking forward to seeing the Honesdale crowd again. Will see what next year brings.

Sandie
