[Woodcarver] Fwd: Brief update - Good news, Bad news

Mornin' All,

The good news is that apparently the chemo and radiation treatments are 
working since the cancer lesions in the lungs are shrinking.  No change 
in the kidneys though since that is a different, slow growing type 
cancer and will be addressed after resolving the aggressive small cell 
lung cancer situation.  The current thought is that the kidney with the 
malignant lesions will be removed but we'll address that when the time 
comes.

In our meeting with my oncologist yesterday it was determined that the 
treatments for the lung cancer have to continue through August  and, 
depending on my blood count at that time, treatment could continue into 
early September so all of our pre-September events will have to be 
canceled. We still  hope to be able to travel to Switzerland with Wayne 
Barton in mid September and the GOW in October but regretfully we will 
not be able to participate in Carv-Fest this year.  That was not good 
news to me because we always have a good time in Faribault and I will 
certainly miss jammin' with the band, a major part of my enjoyment of 
Carv-Fest.
