[Woodcarver] Class Insurance

Hi, Ron,

Check with your homeowners insurance first. Some companies have an
"occasional use" policy rider. I used to be able to get this very
reasonably. The past few years, I haven't been able to get that. It
seems when the insurance company hears "sharp tools" the don't want
any part of it...or the cost is prohibitive. With my studio attached
to the house, I am covered for someone falling, or that type of
liability. As for injuries in class, I have everyone sign a release
form saying that they are aware of the potential for injury and will
not hold me, my business, or my family responsible. I stress safety
constantly. I don't know how well it will hold up in court, but
nobody yet has had a problem with it and we keep the injuries down.
Good luck,
Marcia
