Pat:

     The one thing you can do to all but stop the best of them is to 
make your profiles that are in any group like Yahoo, Hot Mail or any 
other email providers unsearchable or private. If you have a public 
profile they have your email address right off and they start using a 
code buster program to get your password so it they don't have a place 
to start from then one less worry.

     It is great to have instant messaging and all that but there is a 
price to pay for it and that is possibly having your email account phished.

     There is a great way for people to be able to talk to one another 
anytime of day while you are at your computer or carving bench if it is 
close by. It is a program called TeamSpeak it is free and lets people 
from all around the world talk back and forth.

     It has a minimal charge of $5.99 a month for a server that will 
hold 15 people at one time and is running 24/7 so you can check in at 
any time.

     I have one and use it to talk to people all over Europe and Asia. 
With all that are in this group I would think enough donations could be 
raised to pay for it each year and people can just come and go as they 
please.
     It does mean that you have to have speakers and a microphone hooked 
to your computer.

      I believe they have a 30 day free trial to see if it will work for
