It sure worked well. Along with your terrific carving, it made for a wonderful looking piece.

Alex. I have just finished one of the pieces I ordered from you. Yes, the bark is very soft and I had problems with it but finally got one done. I have lost your address so can not send a photo. I think I am not allowed to post photos here.
You can also find me on facebook and I posted the photo of my first project on my site there.

The finish turned out quite well. I used Watco Danish Oil... applying a heavy coat. Then I allow that to wait over night and the next day I shin my artist oil paints and applied them. I did this twice. After waiting a few days for this to
dry I then sprayed it with about 5 or 6 coats of Krylon clear flat finish. I am happy with this. The oils work wonderfully so I will use oil paints and the Watco Danish Oil on the others. I may yet add a coat of finishing wax also.

I've posted a photo on my photo site if you wish to see it. It is in the woodcaring folder. http://picasaweb.google.com/tastlema/WoodcarvingAndCrafts#5545239207722559794
If you want to use my photo just give me the credit for the work I did to created it. ok
