My name is Bill and I am a wood carver.

I live in the area of Santa Fe, NM. I have been carving for about 20 years, although I stop now and then to eat and sleep. I have never made anything really outstanding, but it keeps me busy.

I work a lot with a Boy Scout troop in Santa Fe and have counseled the Woodcarving Merit Badge quite a few times. (I'm SC-361 if that means anything to you.)

I belong to another email list (Scouts-L) that generates sometimes 30 to 40 posts a day. I gather this list is not quite that active.

I look forward to seeing where this leads. I rarely talk to any other carvers, so I am starved for dialogue.

HI BILL in Santa Fe
Its SOOOO good to have come and join our silent club VELKOM !!!
It used to be VERY active but for some unknown reason it has died down
Except for when Uncle Matt ( owner of this list ) sends out the W3E exchange names you see an odd burb
Not used to be like that though
Had as manny as 50 post come through a day
So maybe (just maybe ) with you joining you might stir up enough S%&# to wake up some of the 800 plus members
There is a lot of knowledge about carving in this club
And some AMAZING carvers so any question you have or tidbite you can give us will always be welcome
I am glad you councel the Boy Scouts done that for 18 years myself
Got any pictures of your work to show we wood be very interesting to look at them
and again VELKOM!
