There is actually a product on the market(sold at any decent hardware store) called "salad bowl finish" other than that plain old bolied linseed oil will also work well.

I am carving the Oak Bowl found in the latest Woodcarving Illustrated. Does anyone have a suggestion what to use as a food safe finish for the inside of the bowl?
