Hi Jan -
I have been using “Klean Strip” Wood Bleach for years now. It is a two part solution that is effective when used sparingly with a brush.
Just one coat is necessary on the raw butternut wood.

Just completed this relief carving of the "Life's Tempestuous Sea" in butternut. The sails are beached for contrast. Happy Easter to all in the carving world.
