Don:

Take care my friend. I will miss seeing you and the events and hearing you
sing I don't look good naked anymore. Good luck in the future and I will be
thinking of you.

Loren

Mornin' all,

Been quite a while since I posted anything though I guess Sandie has
kept some of you informed of our situation.

Heard yesterday from the urologist and the biopsy confirms cancer in the
right kidney (a different type of cancer than was in my lung). He's
going to discuss it with my oncologist and see where we go from here. He
did say that with the technology nowadays it is a possibility that they
could remove any tumors and not have to take out any or all of the
kidney, depending on how big and where the tumors are in the kidneys.
That's an encouragement. I'm assuming surgery will be sometime within
the next month. The lesions in the left kidney are apparently non-malignant.

As far as the small cell lung cancer, the most recent scans show my lung
is now cancer free except for some scar tissue which is the result of
the radiation treatments. There is no indication that the lung cancer
has spread elsewhere outside the lung. Other than that, this continuous
fatigue and feeling down all the time is a real frustration and the pain
pills make me sleepy but I was told it's all part of the recovery process.

Because of the uncertainties at this point in time I don't plan on
teaching anymore, at least not in the foreseeable future. I told Sandie
I'd like for the two of us to do a few things for ourselves... a bit of
traveling and maybe another cruise or two plus I'd like to get back into
painting again. I have several paintings I started years ago that I'd
like to finish (both oils and watercolors). I'd also like to do updated
portraits of my kids, grand-kids and great grand-kids.

In the meantime I wanted to let y'all know I think of you often and will
miss seeing you at the events we used to participate in. My best to you
and yours and keep the chips flying!
