Hello folks,

I hope all of you got through all the New Year’s celebrations in fine form. Carol and I want to wish you the very best in 2011.

A short while ago, I posted an announcement about a new wood art show that some folks are putting together for the end of February. All the proceeds for the show are going toward the support of wounded veterans who gave so much for their country. The organizers of the event are asking for our help with donations of carvings for their Silent Auction fundraiser.

Below is a copy of the note that I received from Sandy Jennings, who, along with her co-organizers, have been working so hard to make the event a success. It contains all the information you would need to participate in their fund raising efforts. If there is anything you can do to help, please do so. It’s a very worthy cause.

Happy New Year Larry,

You have already helped us a lot and we have another request if you are willing. Matt Kelly does that awesome exchange program that I have participated in. It occurred to me that many of those same carvers might be willing to help us with our silent auction. Can you get the request for silent auction donations out?

We would appreciate pieces for the silent auction. All the proceeds go to support these two great veterans organizations…Hines VA Hospital Windy City Athletes and Wounded Warriors. It would be nice to have with the piece a short bio of the artist, a few words about the piece (what was the inspiration), suggested retail and a suggested starting bid. Of course, we would gladly accept a piece without that information. The information can be emailed to WinterWoodWonders at gmail.com and the piece can be mailed to Sandy Jennings 22w647 Tamarack Dr, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137

Blessings for a wonderful New Year,

Sandy, Orlan, Shelly and Sharon---organizers of Winter Wood Wonders
