1/4 in shaft are best for aggressive removal of wood Typhoon makes 2 grades Blue (fine) Red (course) Typhoon burrs have to be cleaned with oven clean or equal product, I use them but prefer Kutzall burrs Silver (course) Gold (fine) these burrs can be cleaned by using a propane torch to burn the wood out I have turned them bright red with out hurting them Typhoon Burrs can not be burned they loose their teeth Aggressive removal with 1/4 shaft are a burden on shafts of a Foredom I recommend a Die Grinder.

Hi Denny. I usually like a larger tool for fast wood removal but I have a 3/32" typhoon burr (1/4" round-nosed cylinder) that has really performed well for me. The one I have is blue, supposedly fine but still very aggressive. They do have coarser burrs but I do not know if they are in the 3/32" shaft.
