[Woodcarver] Stuff and more stuff

So I'm getting ready to spend about 4 days on the beach drawing, reading and 
having a few beers to rest up before the long 5-day show at the Sandwich 
Fair September 5 through 9th.

They have a lot of free books on line (e-books). I've downloaded a few and 
there doesn't seem to be a catch. You do not need to subscribe to their 
magazine. So far I've gotten 2 free books and plan to down load more. I like 
free stuff....

At the Sandwich Fair I'll be carving two 1/4 life size crucifixes and doing 
some of the 50 roses I need for Rosary High School.

I've been venturing into painting and fusing glass. We (my brother and I) 
are working on two large stain glass windows for a church. My brother is 
cutting and soldering and I'm designing, painting and firing. They should be 
installed in about 3 weeks. I'll have to post some pictures. I'm trying to 
create the effects the old masters achieved in the 14 and 15th century. I 
now have a whole new respect for their skills.

I got a call Thursday from the Red Cross to be deployed to Florida. I 
couldn't go because of the Sandwich Fair but hopefully after the fair, if 
they need more people I will be going. The plan is to have 50 ERV's 
(Emergency Response Vehicle) staged about an hour away from where Irene is 
hitting, with another 104 on stand by. These ERV's are used to serve meals 
and water and supply other help. The Red Cross has many more volunteers 
there already to open shelters. Let's pray that none of this will be needed.
