Oh poor Bob. Such a super nice and talented fellow. I'll be hoping for a miracle for him, and also for a young (37) friend of our with the same diagnosis.

>Follow up on Bob's brain surgery from Nov 20th.

>Just this week the doctors met with Bob with the results of the biopsy of the tumor that was removed a couple weeks ago. They said that he has Stage 4, high grade glioma. It's a brain cancer that will continue to come back. It is not curable, but is treatable. The doctors at Northwest Memorial in chicago suggested that he begin Chemo and Radiationon Monday Dec 17th. He has also opted to participate in a trial drug. This specific one will provide extra oxygen to his cells and will help with the radiation. There is a placebo with this trail, so we are praying that he receives the actual drug and not the placebo. The plan is to do radiation and chemo for 6 weeks starting on Dec 17th. At that point the chemo treatments will continue for anywhere from 6 to 12 months. The doctor said that with the fight of his life they are expecting 18 months to 2 years.

>At this point Bob is feeling fine. Just recovering from his brain surgery and from the shock of the news this week. He is working and doing things as normal at this point whenever he is not at the hospital. He will continue to do what he can based on how he feels. The doctors say that living life as normal is the best thing for him! At this point he has cancelled only his traveling classes for the 6 week period. We will be making changes as we need to from there!
