[Woodcarver] Finish for cottonwood bark carving

Well we should get lots of replies to this question.
On my bark carvings, once finished with any acrylic paint, I apply a medium coat of stain and when that dries, apply a good coat of paste wax.
If you wanted no darkening of the bark at all, you could apply a clear seal coal, such as Deft clear lacquer and then apply a coat of paste wax.
