I like to use Bri Wax on my bark carvings. They have several different
colors available. I generally use light brown or clear. Bri Wax is a
carnauba wax and dries hard and is a very easy finish to use. I get mine
from larry Yudis. He is on the list if you are interested.

Subject: [Woodcarver] Finish for cottonwood bark carving

Greetings,

I recently finished a cottonwood bark carving. I applied Delta Ceramcoat,
Satin exterior/interior varnish to the completed project. The Delt Ceramcoat
finish turned the carving much..much to dark. Any suggestions on a finish
one could apply to a cottonwood bark carving where the bark would not turn
dark?. Thanks for any assistance.
