Hi Merrilee,

It's a cross between clouds and smoke. Smoke in-so-far as the bottom is tighter and opens up more toward the top, but with the density of clouds.

I've started another one and plan to treat that background differently but not exactly sure how yet. I don't do much planning for those areas, just let the chisel do what it feels like.

  Just beautiful, Joe! I really like the curly cloudy area around her. Do they represent clouds? Becasue that's what they look like to me. Thanks for sharing!
