Hello Dennis
Based on the Golden Virtual Mixer, try a base coat of Cobalt green 20%,
Burnt sienna 10% and Titanium white 70%. When that's dry, apply a
further coat of Hansa yellow med. 1%, Quin magenta 1% and Titanium white
98%. You can subtly shade in red highlights for cheeks, green or blue
for hollows. The green base coat cools the flesh tint and imparts a very
realistic overall effect. All acrylics, applied over a first coat of
gesso. The rather non-intuitive mix is a result of an antique painting
and gilding course at the Geisler-Moroder School in Austria, heartily
recommended. (The original colours are T. white, Burnt umber and Pine
green for the base and T. white, Burnt umber and Terracotta).
