[Woodcarver] Is hearing linked to the control of your cuts?

.Joe,
I think hearing has a lot to do with it, but so does touch and sight.
I've always enjoyed the sound of a sharp tool through the wood, but also
the "feel" of a well-made cut and also the visual pleasure of a curl
coming off the tool and the clean, shiny surface a a sharp tool leaves
behind. As you know, atmosphere also has a lot to do with it for me,
too. If any of those ingredients is missing, it is harder to get fully
absorbed into the process which I think is the key ingredient to
creativity--being absorbed not in the product but in the process.
Someone once said art is a byproduct. (Of course it's also good when
it's a "buy" product, too.)
