[Woodcarver] Empirical Evidence regarding Joe Dillett's question "Is hearing linked to the control of your cuts?"

Leave it to Susan- if we are lucky now she will make a magazine article out of this discussion. 

Personally, I kinda shut out sound when I'm carving. I usually have not very loud music playing but most of the time I could not tell you what was playing. I don't multi-task very well, so if I'm focused on carving I don't consciously 'hear' anything. If my husband suddenly pops up near me I usually jump a mile because I didn't hear him coming.
