Hey Papa Elf,

It’s a great thing you are doing getting those young folks started in carving.

It’s funny that the tools we sent may be part of ones that “I sent to a young man in Iowa who was just getting started.”

>From here to there, then back here! LOL!

Keep up the wonderful work you’re doing.

Well, since Larry started it: :-)

I just finished a stylized pin of a dragonfly (from a roughout) that I will be giving to a friend for her 40th (she's obsessed with the little buggers)
Also, I am currently working on a love spoon of my own design, as a wedding gift. Hopefully it will come out as good as it did on paper.

Update on the sisters I was helping to learn to carve:

The tools that were given by you folks went to good homes...thank you! They are still very excited about it. I was able to make up a total of 3 kits, two for the sisters and another that I sent to a young man in Iowa who was just getting started.

One of the sisters brought her best friend by, and the other brought her boyfriend. Both of THEM are now hooked on carving, too!! Hmmm, that makes at least 5 young people, so far...as well as my friend makes 6...but that doesn't count, 'cause he's older than me. :-)
