[Woodcarver] Local Carvers featured!

            Another member of the Lancaster County WoodCarvers has been
featured in the nationally circulated Woodcarving Illustrated, Spring 2013
Issue 62. Jim Feather of Landisville is featured in the article "Comical
Cowboy Rooster" which is a step by step guide to carving this jointed shelf
sitter.

            Jim joins others of the local club who have been featured in
this locally published magazine. Don Swartz of Silver Spring and Don Dearolf
of Lancaster are two others who have had step by step guides featuring their
carving styles in previous issues of Woodcarving Illustrated.

            Bob Hershey of Lititz, another member of the local club,
recently won several ribbons in the Caricature Carvers of America's
Competitions for several of his carvings.

            These are just four of the carvers who are active in the
Lancaster County WoodCarvers club which meets monthly on the third Tuesday
evening at the Brownstown campus of the Lancaster County Career and
Technical Centers. 

            They are also active in the presentation of this year's 40th
WoodCarving and Wildlife Art Festival, March 23rd & 24th, 2013 at the
Memorial Student Center of Millersville University. Come out and see the
great artistic talents being shared by over fifty exhibitors at this year's
Festival plus several vendors selling carving supplies. Woodcarving
Illustrated will also be present with a "Spit and Whittle" area with many
demonstrations scheduled. The doors open at 10 a.m. both mornings and close
at 5 and 4 p.m. respectively. There is free parking and $5 admission charge.

            See, up close and personal, these and the other nationally known
featured guest carvers: Wayne Barton, Shawn Cipa, Bruce Henn, Dennis & Susan
Thornton.

            The Lancaster County WoodCarvers is a Pennsylvania Non-Profit
Corporation for educational and charitable work especially to promote,
foster and encourage the arts of woodcarving, whittling and sculpturing.
