Wahoo!  Another fine Gathering Of Woodcarvers!  Way to go, lil' Joe!

 

The dates hit right between the Congress and a seminar in North Dakota so I
convinced Miss Carol to at least come out for a day.

 

We're planning on coming Saturday, June 22nd.  We won't be bringing any
supplies with us except for any pre-orders folks may want us to bring.

 

I'd still like to have a corner in the air-conditioned shop to park my
derriere; you know how easily I melt when it's hot out.  :o)

Announcing the GOW Reunion

 

Who: Everyone is invited and spouses, regardless if you've attended

a past GOW. We are celebrating the friendship of carvers. Please come.

 

What: Honoring Ol' Don Burgdorf and past GOW friendships with a 4-day social
gathering. No formal classes. Enjoy activities with others, whittle and have
fun.

 

Where: The Carving Shop, 645 E. LaSalle St., Somonauk, IL. 60552

 

When: June 20th through the 23rd , 2013

 

Camping is available at no cost. For camping reservations please contact

Sandie Burgdorf at outdoor111 at verizon.net

Please do NOT arrive before June 20th Campers will be leaving Monday morning
June 24th.

 

Motels: For day visitors, Super 8, 1510 North Bridge St., Yorkville, Il.

(For discounted rate, let them know it is the GOW rate.)

 

Activities: We are planning an Ol' Don Burgdorf 'Roast'. Come prepared to
'Roast' Ol' Don. Other activities include blanket trade (bring woodcarving
related items to trade), whittling contest and demonstrations. As always
we'll have music and story telling around the bon-fire. Bring your own lawn
chairs.

 

Food: Three evening dinners planned, on a cost sharing bases. 1) Hot dog
roast, 2) Chili dump (bring a can of chili to throw in the pot), and pizza.
Bring your own drinks. Breakfast and lunch, you are on your own.

We are taking this opportunity to honor Ol' Don Burgdorf for his promotion
of the art of woodcarving over many years. We are doing this with a 'Roast'
on Saturday evening (June 22, 2013) as we sit around the bon-fire. We sure
would love to have all of you there to honor Ol' Don, maybe say a few words
to Roast him and just have fun. We have built great friendships in the
woodcarving community through these Lists and our many shows, seminars and
social gatherings. The GOW Reunion is a celebration of those friendships.
