[Woodcarver] ATTENTION WOODCARVERS!

Hello all y'all,

Anyone within driving distance of northern Illinois, is in for a treat.  The
Blackhawk Woodcarving Club is sponsoring a talk by Susan Alexander on
Wednesday, July 24 at their 9:00 AM club meeting.  Susan has been written up
in the British WOODCARVING magazine, writes a column called "Let's Talk
Carving" in CARVING Magazine and has a woodcarving blog called
letstalkcarving.com.  

One area of great interest to all woodcarvers is her "Tips and Techniques"
feature.  She will be focusing on those tips and techniques during her
presentation as well as woodcarving in general.  In her relatively short
carving career, she has taken seminars from many instructors who are at the
top of their game in the world of woodcarving.  I'm sure you will thoroughly
enjoy the interaction with her during her talk.

Another great reason for attending is having an opportunity to go home with
a nice woodcarving related prize.  During and/or after the talk there is
going to be a raffle for many donated items.  All the proceeds from the
raffle are going to be donated to the Bob Guge Benefit Fund to help Bob and
his family.  As most of you know by now, Bob was diagnosed with terminal
brain cancer last winter.  His medical bills have been astronomic and far
exceed whatever insurance was available.  This will be an opportunity to
give something back to a man who has touched so many woodcarvers' lives over
the past 25+ years.
