Hi Merrilee,

I was raised in Albuquerque, so may I suggest a couple fine restaurants.
1. For the view and good food. High Finance Restaurant . Park at the base
of Sandia Mountain and take a tram up the side of the mountain to the
restaurant 2.7 miles.great ride and view. I suggest you make reservation
ahead of time.505-243-9742.

2. "MY Personal Five star restaurant." EL Pinto...www.elpinto.com. This is
a must if you don't like Mexican food their American food is also great.
But visit this restaurant with the intention of a fine dining experience.
plan to take 1/ 2/ to 2 hours for the experience. 10500 4th St NW
505-89817171

3.Sadies is also Mexican food, very very good .6230 4th St NW 505-345-5339

4. IN OLD TOWN in Albq. La Crepe Michel 400 San Felipe St. 505- 242-1251

5. For a great hamburger. any LATA Burger. drive
in..................Well!!! by this time you might want a hamburger.

Opps. almost forgot here. If your in a restaurant and you order Mexican
food the waiter or waitress will ask you......RED or GREEN ?? meaning do
you want red or green chile sauce on your dish.

Sight Seeing.

Drive up to Cedar Crest atop Sandia Crest.......a paved road to the top.
about 9:00 PM. View the light of Duke City ( Albuquerque) you should see
Bernaillo to the north which is approximately 17 miles from Albuquerque.
Belen, N.M. approximately 35 mile south of Albq. Take a light jacket with
you. You will be a little over 10,000 ft.

Old Town Plaza, here you can if you wish purchase native Indian jewelry
from the natives. good local dining also.

Albq. Aquarium and Rio Grande Botanic Garden. all walking distance from
Old Town Plaza.

A must see. Petroglyph National Monument 6001 Unser Blvd west side of Albq.

Just FYI about 30 to 40 miles east of Albuquerque up will see a various
location some old open sided structures. When highway 66 was the main
route, Native Indian would sell their jewelry at these out post and it
wasn't uncommon for them too have a blanket out and place their jewelry on
the blanket to sell to passing tourist. BRING A CAMERA ALONG....The Indian
like to talk to you about their jewelry and have their pictures taken. The
VERY best place to buy Indian jewelry is from the native themselves
..........again just FYI.

Well I hope I haven't been to wordy here.

I hope your visit is an enjoyable one and safe.
