"Freedom is Not Free" is the theme of the 42nd WoodCarving and Wildlife Art
Festival hosted by Lancaster County WoodCarvers. In keeping with the theme
leadership has decided to give free admission to those who have Military ID!
This festival will showcase the artistic abilities of about 70 exhibitors
showing and many selling their original artwork. There will be relief
carvings, fish, animals, birds, caricatures, realistic, sculptures, walking
sticks, and other carvings. Wildlife art will also include photographs,
paintings, and even metal sculptures. 

 

Vendors will be selling carving and other art supplies and books. Fox Chapel
Publishing will feature their Wood Carving Illustrated magazine and host
hourly demonstrations and instruction periods. 

 

Our featured / guests will be Shawn Cipa and Desiree Hajny.

Shawn Cipa is known for his carving of  walking stick, whimsical and folk
art pieces. In 2000 Shawn was recognized as "Santa Carver of the Year",
after having won Woodcraft's National Santa Carving contest. Check out Shawn

Desiree Hajny is known for her realistic animal pieces. In April of 2003
Desiree was the third recipient of the Wood Carving Illustrated "Woodcarver

This is a great family event and children are welcomed. Take a break from
the winter and enjoy an eyeful of a wide variety of original art.

 

The Festival is known as "The best little show in the East" and will be held
Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., March 21-22,
2015 at the Student Memorial Center of Millersville University, 101 Shenks
Lane, Millersville, PA. There is a $5.00 admission charge for those over 12
unless one has a Military ID
