Lancaster County WoodCarvers'
44th Annual Woodcarving & Wildlife Art Festival
Student Memorial Center, Millersville University,
opposite side of street from 101 Shenks Ln, Millersville, PA 17551
March 18&19, 2017.
Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
& Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Free Parking Festival Admission: $5.00
Free Admission for those with Military ID!
Featured / Guest Carver will be Rosalyn (Roz) Leach Daisey of Newark,
Delaware. Roz does fine wildlife sculpture and has written several books.

Featured / Guest Carver will also include Jim Hiser, newest Caricature
Carvers of America member. Jim is a member of our club and also the Conewago

Sister Clubs will also be Exhibiting:
American National Cane Club (ANCC) will have an exhibit of carved canes.
ANCC is a sister club that meets monthly in Lancaster County as well and
focuses on canes and walking sticks.
Conewago Carvers will have an exhibit of their club members. Conewago
Carvers is another sister club which is very active west of the Susquehanna
River, meeting in East Berlin.
Cumberland Valley Wood Carvers will also have an exhibit by their club
members. This is a sister club from the Chambersburg - Scotland area.
West Shore Woodcarvers will also have an exhibit of their club members. West
Shore Woodcarvers is another sister club which is very active west of the
Susquehanna River, Hamton Twp, Cumberland Co.
Yorkarvers will also have an exhibit by their club members. This is a sister
club from the York area.
Woodcarving Illustrated and Fox Chapel Publishing are planning to host an
area called "Spit and Whittle" for carvers and attendees to sit and share
information and to carve and to watch demonstrations.
Demonstrations / Lectures / Presentations will be given by various carvers
including our featured carver and other local carvers starting on the hour,
every hour.
Woodcarvings and Wildlife Art are available for purchase from many of the
artists and carvers. Many pieces of original work by carvers and other
artists will be available.
Exhibits and Displays of Wood Carvings and Wildlife Art are hosted by the
artists.
Vendors expected this year will also be selling carving and art tools,
supplies, books, wood, etc.

COMPETITION of Woodcarvings and Wildlife Art is also held. Competition is
open to club members and show exhibitors only. New rules hopefully will
increase the number of items in the competition. See our Website,

Silent Auction will be held for a limited number of carvings and wildlife
art donated by exhibitors and club members.
Door prizes of carvings done by the Lancaster County WoodCarvers will be
awarded regularly throughout the Festival.
The John Herrington Award of 2016 may be announced at the Festival on
Saturday afternoon. This is a recognition given by the Lancaster County
WoodCarvers to a member for the outstanding contributions to our club and
the world of carving. The 2014 Herrington Award was given to Jacob Deery of
Lititz, PA.
Exhibitors are urged to carve and donate a theme related item that will be
auctioned off on Sunday afternoon at the Festival. These items will be
displayed on a "Theme Table."

Lancaster County WoodCarvers meet monthly on the 3rd Tuesday evening from 6
p.m. to ? We meet at the Brownstown Campus of Lancaster County Career &
Technology Center, Snyder & Metzler Rds, Brownstown , PA 17508. June's
meeting is a picnic at Lititz Springs Park. July and August we do not meet.
The Lancaster County WoodCarvers is a Pennsylvania Non-Profit Corporation
for educational and charitable work especially to promote, foster and
encourage the arts of woodcarving, whittling and sculpturing.
