Hi Mel,
There are lots of different kinds of palm trees here in Darwin and there aren’t any that I know of that have carvable wood. The wood is a bit like celery and it crumbles away as it dries.
Best Regards,

Missed it, I was in Phoenix. Can palm trees yield carvable wood? No one knew.

Hey Sheri,
You used to be in CO, right? Now in VA.
Thanks for spreading to word about the show in Stevens Point. It was a great Saturday. Saw a whole bunch of old friends and made a bunch of new ones. Looking forward to another great day tomorrow.

Looking for something to do this weekend?
For anyone within driving distance of the middle of WI, come and visit the
Wisconsin Rapids Woodcarving Show in Stevens Point. The show is being held
at the Holiday Inn Convention Center, 1001 Amber Avenue. Randy Moore will be
there with his tremendous assortment of roughouts; John Krantz will have a
huge stock of the finest basswood grown in the Northland, and, of course,
The Woodcraft Shop will be there with such an array of woodcarving tools and
supplies that you'll shake in your boots just looking at all of it! Please
send this e-mail to all your woodcarving friends who might want to see the
finest woodcarving show in the whole state of Wisconsin.
Hope to see you there!
