46th Annual Woodcarving & Wildlife Art Festival
Student Memorial Center, Millersville University,
opposite side of street from 101 Shenks Ln, Millersville, PA 17551
March 16 & 17, 2019.
Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
& Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Free Parking
Festival Admission: $5.00
Free Admission for those with Military ID!
Free Admission for Students with High School or College/Higher Ed ID!
The theme for the Festival is "At the Carnival!"
Featured / Guest Carver will be Fred Henderson, Carousel Horse Carver and
Realistic Carver, from York PA.

Featured / Guest Carver will be Fred Henderson, Carousel Horse Carver and
Realistic Carver, from York PA.
Sister Clubs Exhibiting:
American National Cane Club (ANCC) will have an exhibit of carved canes.
ANCC is a sister club that focuses on canes and walking sticks and meets
monthly in Lancaster County Pennsylvania.
Conewago Carvers will have an exhibit of their club members. Conewago
Carvers is another sister club which is very active west of the Susquehanna
River, meeting in East Berlin, Pennsylvania.
Cumberland Valley Wood Carvers will also have an exhibit by
their club members. This is a sister club from the Chambersburg - Scotland
area of Pennsylvania.
West Shore Woodcarvers will also have an exhibit of their club members. West
Shore Woodcarvers is another sister club which is very active west of the
Susquehanna River, Hamton Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
Yorkarvers will also have an exhibit by their club members. This is a sister
club from the York area of Pennsylvania.
Carrol Carvers, a sister club from southern Maryland.
PA Delaware Valley Woodcarvers, a sister club from Bucks County,
Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania Gourd Society, a new club for our show will be present with a
display of their art on / with Gourds.
Pennsylvania Wood Turners, a new club for our show will be present with a
display and 3 hands-on lathes.
Millersville University Art Students will also be exhibiting their
"WoodCarvings or Wildlife Art".
Woodcarving Illustrated and Fox Chapel Publishing are planning to host an
area called "Spit and Whittle" for carvers and attendees to sit and share
information and to carve and to watch demonstrations.
Demonstrations / Lectures / Presentations of one hour duration will be given
every hour starting on the half-hour by various carvers including our
featured carver and other local carvers.
Carving "5 Minute" Owl - "hands on carving" for beginners, or new carvers,
or those who just want to try carving. All supplies and tools will be
available for use with basic safety and techniques shared. Instruction and
guidance will be provided by club members. Each session will take about an
hour and will start on the hour and on the half-hour. At the end of the hour
most will leave with a complete carved owl. Must be at least 14 years old
and everyone must sign a waver to participate in a session.
Woodcarvings and Wildlife Art are available for purchase from many of the
artists and carvers. Many pieces of original work by carvers and other
artists will be available.
Exhibits and Displays of Wood Carvings and Wildlife Art are hosted by the
artists.
Vendors expected this year will also be selling carving and art tools,
supplies, books, wood, etc.

Ritter Carvers Inc, Barbara Ritter, proprietor from Colmar, PA
Stadtlander Woodcarvings, Bob Stadtlander, proprietor / carver
from Mantura, OH
Silent Auction will be held for a limited number of carvings and wildlife
art donated by exhibitors and club members. Proceeds from the Silent Auction
will be split evening between the club's Beginner Carver Fund and the
Lancaster / Lebanon Habitat for Humanity. The auction will close at 3:00 on
Sunday afternoon.
Door prizes of carvings done by the Lancaster County WoodCarvers will be
awarded regularly throughout the Festival.
Don Herrington Award, an recognition by the club of an exemplary member of
the club, will be given on Saturday about Noon during the festival.

Lancaster County WoodCarvers meet monthly on the 3rd Tuesday evening from 6
p.m. to about 8:30 at the Brownstown Campus of Lancaster County Career &
Technology Center, Snyder & Metzler Rds, Brownstown, PA 17508. June's
meeting is a picnic at Lititz Springs Park. July and August we do not meet.
The Lancaster County WoodCarvers is a Pennsylvania Non-Profit Corporation
for educational and charitable work especially to promote, foster and
encourage the arts of woodcarving, whittling and sculpturing.
