I like your thinking. <br>
The difficult stuff is done, you have the correct size wood and metal,
all you have to do is carve it.<br>
I have seen different shapes and woods. I have some oak ones and I
have also seen some whitish wood that can be stained to whatever you
want.<br>

<div>Very simple go to Lowes and buy a cheap wooden switchplate,
either carve it, or remove the medal from the back and pop it on to
your fancy one. You can also use that as a template.</div>
