Around this time each year he cranks out about a 100 Santa figures that change each year. He has collectors that look forward to his new creations every year. Unfortunately this year they are going to be disappointed. He had a 3rd operation on his carving arm and he's just now getting back into his carving. He's been fooling around with carving some golf balls to work up his strength again. He is usually in the bookstore carving away and taking care of business. You can call him and figure a time for a visit if you care to.

He designed a large carving of Chief Wapello that has been recently completed by a chain sawyer from Vermont. It is displayed right next to the brand new convention center on Market Street in Ottumwa down by the river. He said it is really a sight to see. The detail is just tremendous.
