[game_preservation] Game preservation videos?

I was thinking of both actually - although (optional!) voice over a
gameplay video is the most useful content for anyone looking at the
history, certainly if the actual arcade cabinets or controls (Light
guns/DDR/Guitar Hero/Wii) were available, watching the person play would
be good too (whether or not someone can actively describe what they are
doing at the same time as playing games that need concentration would
probably mean many get voiceovers done after playing ;-) )
The lossless video codec for older (sprite-based I presume) video games
sounds interesting and would be a great idea. Something akin to PNG
lossless compression, unlike the current JPEG-like compression of normal
video, would be highly useful. I wish I could help, but I'd be at a loss
where to start.
