[game_preservation] Preservation article

You should be able to read the Atlantic for a few weeks until the next issue
comes out. Being published in the Atlantic is HUGE - this is the equivalent
of say getting reported in the New Yorker. Kind of sad they don't mention
the White Paper, but all the regular suspects are there!

"One of the movement’s goals is a sort of universal card catalog for
software, which would allow any computer to access any game directly, no
matter its origins."

This line in particular I found interesting. What exactly does this mean by
'card catalog'? Is this a list of all software made, or a combination of
that and the virtual emulator that will run all software? I in particular am
interested in the catalog itself because I think a list of all software and
variations is valuable to a library.
