After reading
http://www.wzonline.de/nachrichten/newsdetails-allgemein/article/eine-sekunde-zuviel.html
I find myself holding on to my towel and saying:

"This must be some new definition of the word 'erwarten' with which
I'm not familiar."

To wit, the weather (in particular the effects of the derecho on June
29/30) is a predictable kind of thing, but a leap second was unexpected.

This is a stark contrast to the report of sysmanager pager activations at
http://blog.pagerduty.com/2012/07/a-utc-leap-second-vs-derecho/
where it seems that different ways of massaging the data can lead to
varying interpretations about whether the derecho or the leap second
was worse.
