No, I meant that as well as the current automatic link syntax:

<http://www.example.com>

it might be worth considering this syntax:

[http://www.example.com]

since it is more consistent with non-automatic links, where the
equivalent link would be created with:

[http://www.example.com](http://www.example.com)

or

[http://www.example.com][id]

i.e. the text to be linked is generally placed between square brackets
and if that text happens to be a url then it shouldn't be necessary to
specify it again.
