Markdown in Wikipedia

I noticed the other day that Wikipedia did not have an article on
Markdown, though several other articles mention it; using the article
on Textile (which didn't exist either, until I wrote it a couple days
ago) as a model, I've put together a basic summary of what Markdown is
and provided some examples of the syntax, along with links to more
information and to versions of Markdown in various languages. Any
corrections, improvements or additions would be welcome:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markdown
I've left a link in there for an as-yet-nonexistent companion article
on SmartyPants, but haven't yet had the time to write it up.
