Well, Markdown already has rules that pay attention to tabs, so
its own conventions would be what counts here, and Markdown.pl
ships with `$g_tab_width` set to 4.

(Traditionally tabs are 8 places wide. I suspect that that being
way too much is what led to the abominable mixed tabs+spaces
indentation style that is so prevalent in the C world.)
