That's a good idea. But I think it's too late to change; I use
spaces between `[link text] [id]` often.
One workaround if you want put consecutive links together using the
new shortcut style would be to use two spaces:
[this] [that] and [the other]

That's good, because it's definitely not going to happen. :^)
