I have released the first version of an export plugin for
OmniOutliner that allows you to save an OmniOutliner file as a
Markdown text file. The levels of the outline are converted to
headers, and the notes of each item are included as the text.
Additionally, it includes support for metadata if you are using my
MultiMarkdown variant, but that is optional. (It does allow you to
do some neat things, however, such as automatically adding title's to
XHTML files, or authors and dates to LaTeX files).
My desired workflow is this:
* create a document in OmniOutliner using the outline for the
structure, and the notes for the text
* export using the Markdown plugin to a markdown text file
* run MultiMarkdown on the text file to create a complete (ie
<html><head></head><body, etc) XHTML file
* optionally use XSLT to convert the XHTML file to LaTeX (and
subsequently pdf) or S5 (other xsl files can be created for a variety
of formats)
So far, it has been working in my tests.
Feel free to check it out (and leave feedback!):

Enjoy, and hopefully someone will find this to be of use...
