Metadata syntax (was Universal syntax for Markdown)

One idea: put any metadata at the *end* of the file.

(Nonstandard, but it's no problem for tools, and since it's not in a
reader's face, there is more flexibility to format that still meets
the sniff-test of "will a human reader balk".)
