[MCR] Resplendent Mountain - Mt. Robson Provincial Park

On Aug 18th Sarah Hueniken and I climbed Mt. Resplendent with 2 others.  We
left the Robson Valley on Aug 16th returning on Aug 19th. Our summit day we
climbed the peak from the Extinguisher Tower bivi site via the normal route.
The ³icefall² which accesses the Dome threatens the approach to the flats
below the Resplendent/Robson col and we traveled over large amounts of
relatively recent debris. The exposure in this area seems to be far greater
than in past years.  The icefall itself was active all morning and hardly
looks passable. Apparently there is a very difficult crevasse to cross if
you make it that far without getting hit by seracs.  The shrund below the
Resplendent/Robson col is big but can be easily skirted by going out far
left towards Resplendent before gaining the ridge.  There was a supportive
crust on the ascent and a strong South wind kept the temperatures above
2750m pretty cool.  Below 2750m by 10:30am the snow was moist and knee deep
in spots.

Robson had a few ascents via the Kain Route and the South Face while we were
there.  Rumour is that the snow quality on the Kain Face is marginal, not
surprising given the warm temperatures and lack of overnight freezes.

Smoke in the area was very thick as of Aug 17th and limited visibility to
less than 1km yesterday on the hike out.
