[MCR] Mt Joffre, Kananaskis Country

Was back in the Aster lake area on April 8th till the 11th and had a good look back at Mt Joffre.

The approach has the best coverage I have seen in some time and there are only a few crevasses showing on the lower part of the glacier. The schrund is fairly easy to see on the main part of the face.

There is a melt freeze crust on all aspects in this area except on true north above 2500m. This crust was breaking down by 10-11am each day over the past few days making early starts and early finishes a "must do". Ski crampons would be good thing to have on the approach in and out from Upper Kananaskis Lake as the crust in this area was 5-10cm thick in places.

We did see a few avalanches up to size 2 on solar aspects stepping down to ground and numerous loose wet avalanches up to size 2.
