[MCR] Whitewater backcountry conditions

[Public Mountain Conditions Report]

Today our group skied the 5 mile area in the Whitewater backcountry and
although the buried surface hoar was prevalent below about 30-40 cms of
storm snow it was not quite stiff enough yet to be a reactive slab. We
could hear patrol doing control work all day but uncertain of their
results. We skied moderate ridge line features and steep trees on both
southwest and north east aspects with no obvious signs of instability(no
cracking) but the stability is likely to change for the worse in many
regions. Stability had been downgraded by forecasters today for the
kootenay boundary.
