[MCR] Avalanche closure on Canmore Hill HWY 742

[Public Mountain Conditions Report]

The Canmore Hill on EEOR (HWY 742) is closed due to high avalanche hazard. Projected re-opening of the highway is late Tuesday.
 
 
Field teams found up to 70cm of storm snow overnight in the Black Prince area on Monday. The Valentine's surface hoar layer is now buried 125cm at treeline. Widespread cracking was occurring and numerous very large avalanches were heard, but not seen due to very limited visibilty. Avalanche hazard will remain HIGH for Tuesday.
 
Time to stay very conservative!
